Probably the best way of
appreciating the wild beauty of the
Cinque Terre is by walking.
The clifftop paths which link the five
village along five hours rambling
vibrant colours of the Mediterranean
flora, with the constant backdropl of
the sparkling blue sea.
This is the “Blue way” (percorso azzurro
n°2), marked on rocks and trees along
the way by white and red flashes.
Riomaggiore-Manarola (1 Km-20/25 minutes):
Know as the “Via dell’amore”, this
lovers’ walk begins near the station of
Riomaggiore. From here you will be
delighted by the contours of the cliffs
and the undergrowths above you.
Manarola-Corniglia (2,8 Km-1 hour):
This pathways takes you through olive
grows and vineyards, as far as the
beach at Corniglia. Should you wish to
visit the village of
Corniglia
there are 377 steps, the “Lardarina”
stairs to climb.
Corniglia-Vernazza (3,4 Km-1,30/2 hours):
As all ways this
Cinque Terre path rewards
the walkies with stunning views of
the sea, in the final length there are
numerouse prickly-pear cactus and a
breath-taking view of village of
Vernazza.
Vernazza-Monterosso (3,8 Km-2 hours):
This is the most arduous stretch of the
whole “Blue way”, but one that
cannot fail to amaze you with its sheer
drops that you can see along that
way.
ALTA VIA DELLE 5 TERRE:
The trail begins from
Portovenere and
goes downhill till
Levanto, long
about 40 km foot-path.
It crosses the typical tophill of the
Cinque
Terre park, and you can find
deviations where hikers can reach the
other villages and its own
sanctuaries. |
